Government Initiatives in the Renewable Energy Vertical

Somewhere we would all agree that “power” is incomparably the most crucial lifeline of our modern day livelihood and for the economic growth. It's almost next to impossible to imagine our single day without the boon of continuous supply of power transmission and distribution. Not just our daily life needs are accompanied with it but the adequate growth of infrastructure and industries also rely on its availability to raise the growth bar of Indian economy.  And the power in the form of a renewable source is a bang-on to reduce the effects of previously made destruction in the form of fossils and can impeccably overcome to-
  • Save unexpected utility cost of consumer
  • Significantly increase consumer property’s value
  • Reduce the pollution emitted during energy production
  • Installed anywhere where the sun shines, even off the power grid
  • Avail the rebate on solar panel installations
Such positive community support and commendable cost savings factor make solar panel installations a must-to-have option. Moreover, it has also been observed that solar installations have no dark side if installing it in a community.
To this regard, Indian Government plans to adopt solar technology and approve the regulation of rooftop solar panel installations. In an attempt to prompt the social venture of “Go Green in India”, the Prime Minister of Indian Government, PM Narendra Modi announced a target to set up 100 GW of solar plants by the end of 2022. With this keen target, the government is ready to implement their scheme to tie-up solar project development by bidding globally for 20 GW solar generation capacity provider manufacturing companies in India. While announcing the road-map for future advances in renewable energy project auctions, renewable energy Minister RK Singh said that the government implements a condition for the bidders who want to bid for 20 GW they should have their manufacturing units here also. Since then, many foreign solar makers initiative to set up their base in India among local players

During the budget presentation, the government has also taken measures to formulate a mechanism where the distribution companies or licensees will purchase the farmers’ surplus solar power at a reasonable price. Also, the budget made an attempt to eliminate the 5% customs duty on the solar tempered glass so that it could become relatively cheaper option to make purchasing decisions for.
To promote the Renewable Energy among different sectors, government has proposed Central financial Assistance (CFA) and Achievement linked Incentives/ Awards. Please find the sector-wise eligibility:

By the next five year, it has been expected that solar will bring progress to meet energy needs within the context of a carbon-constrained world. It is always prudent to have a better understanding of the powering demands at your end so that you can charge your products seamlessly.
In an attempt to boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative in the solar manufacturing sector, the government is planning to come out with a scheme that would tie-up solar project development with domestic manufacturing.
